The members of Freshman Programs server first-year engineering students by helping them with the transition to college life. Freshman Programs works with the Department of Engineering Education to organize and coordinate Engineering 104/404. This is a mentorship program for first-year engineering students to increase their awareness of engineering , improve their chances of success, and help to better acclimate them to Purdue University.
ENGR 104/404 is offered to first-year engineers every fall semester. There are currently three divisions of ENGR 104/404: one devoted to learning community students, one devoted to international students, and one for the students who do not fall into either of those categories. There are a total of 28 sections right now with 56 mentors and approximately 400 first-year students total.
